11 october: viva España

We went to Kawasaki, to our Spanish friend, Paco that we met on September 28 (see 28 Sept.). There, together we prepared Spanish dishes. That day, the menu was tortilla (Spanish omelette made of potatoes with bacon and onions) and paella of course. Paco is a very good cook and he clearly explained and demonstrated how to make these delicious dishes. While cooking, we discovered different traditions and memories of his hometown: Salamanca (Spain). We were impressed by its very original way to drink wine. In fact, you must drop directly the wine in your mouth through a special pitcher. Pouring the wine without staining your clothes is not easy ... but the biggest challenge is to drink at the same time without choking! We tried but it was not very convincing! In addition to eating good food and drinking wine, we could see an impressive collection of dishes and various objects in clay from Salamanca. An evening was really too short to see all items in detail ... because I can assure you there was something to watch. It is like the cave of Ali Baba. His homepage is:
